Live Show Featuring Michael Lington, Charlie McCoy, Janey Clewer, Members of Restless Heart and More Set for September 27 at the Franklin Theatre

Nashville, Tenn (August 2, 2016) - On September 27 at 7 pm, a talented group of musicians will take the stage at the historic Franklin Theatre near Nashville to celebrate the mission of One Generation Away (OneGen), a local non-profit dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to Middle Tennessee residents in need while teaching volunteers the value of service. The organization's mission statement is to eliminate poverty in America in our lifetime.

The evening will begin with legendary Country Music Hall of Fame Member Charlie McCoy, known for his world-class harmonica playing with superstars including Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, to name a few. McCoy will later be joined by internationally known singer-songwriter Janey Clewer. Clewer has worked with musical greats from Elton John and Julio Iglesias to Harry Connick, Jr. and Gladys Knight and has been a featured songstress at Tokyo's Cotton Club. The evening will feature an all-star house band including Dave Innis and Greg Jennings of Restless Heart, as well as Bruce Gaitsch, Chris Rodriguez, Tim Denbo, Dan Needham and Boh Cooper. The evening will close with a fiery set from LA-based saxophonist Michael Lington, blazing a fresh, innovative road with a freewheeling immersion into the heart of the 60’s and 70’s Memphis Soul vibe. In his career, Lington has collaborated with many other top artists, like Michael Bolton, Barry Manilow, Aaron Neville, Taylor Dayne and countless others. This is the second year for McCoy and Lington, as well as Innis, Jennings and Gaitsch to participate in raising much-needed funds for One Generation Away.

“What an amazing year! We are thankful to see our vision coming to pass,” states OneGen founder Chris Whitney. “Medical and dental treatment, financial education, and children being provided with free books to read, all while giving food away to our neighbors in need. Our latest efforts are bringing fresh produce to the food deserts in Middle Tennessee. With your continued support, we have the ability to tackle poverty at its roots and realize our goal to wipe hunger off the face of America.”

“I am humbled to be able to support One Generation Away for a second year,” says Restless Heart’s Dave Innis.

“It’s a mission that resonates: loving one another through service” adds Innis’ wife Adrienne. Both are avid supporters and also regular volunteers at One Gen food distributions.

“Greg and I are excited to share the stage with such an amazing lineup,” Dave continues. “We are blessed with great friends in the industry who share our heart for helping others.”
